Blog 10
For this weeks blog I chose the song Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. There are many reasons why I chose this song but I will start with a memory. When I was a child we would drive to my aunt's house that was 30 minutes away. For some reason I remember driving home and this song playing on the radio and I had like an out of body experience hearing it. Anyways, I have always LOVED like LOVED this song it is unlike anything I have ever heard. The beginning of this song with the bass gets me high or something I swear, I listen to this song so much. It almost has like a Halloween feel to it and I don't know if that makes sense but it does, and I love Halloween so. This song also sounds like 3 different songs basically and no one can do it like them. I could and I have listened to this song on repeat because like I said I love it. Clearly I love this song deeply and it will always be a favorite of mine. This song is so cool and has a sound like none other. If you have never heard this song listen to it with all the lights off eyes closed and let yourself transcend.
I really liked your analysis of this song! I agree this song is one of my favorites! I also really loved the tie to your childhood that this song had for you. I love when music reminds us of times in our life. I think it really shows the power that music can have.
ReplyDeleteI have songs like this that I remember specifically listening to in the car with my parents. One of mine is actually "Uptown Girl," so I think that's so cool that I'm not the only one! I agree that this song has a Halloween feel, it also lowkey makes me think of Lady Gaga, but maybe that's pushing it a bit.
ReplyDeleteI loved the way that you talked about this song because you are obviously very passionate about it! I also love that you talked about a memory that it invoked in you because that's very important when it comes to music! I think that you did an amazing job with this blog!
