Listening Blog 3

This week I listened to I Got Rhythm by Ethel Merman. I chose this song because of how loud and exciting it is. I like how loud she can sing I think it is super cool. I like how she belts and holds notes for so long. I also just think this is such a fun song, it has very upbeat lyrics. I like how jazzy the music in the back is. It is a type of song you would want to swing dance to. I also think it is super impressive how she made such a popular song while being a woman during a time that did not favor women that much. I like listening to this song and see how long she holds the notes for. Especially the note at the very end it is super impressive! Overall, I just really like this song because she is so fun to listen to. You can tell she wanted the audience to be impressed by her singing. I also really like the beginning it really hooks you and then the song kind of changes pace after that. The song keeps you entertained unlike other old songs this one is fun! I like all of her lyrics they are super upbeat and honestly sort of funny if you listen very closely.
