Listening Blog 3
This week I listened to I Got Rhythm by Ethel Merman. I
chose this song because of how loud and exciting it is. I like how loud she can
sing I think it is super cool. I like how she belts and holds notes for so
long. I also just think this is such a fun song, it has very upbeat lyrics. I
like how jazzy the music in the back is. It is a type of song you would want to
swing dance to. I also think it is super impressive how she made such a popular
song while being a woman during a time that did not favor women that much. I
like listening to this song and see how long she holds the notes for. Especially
the note at the very end it is super impressive! Overall, I just really like
this song because she is so fun to listen to. You can tell she wanted the audience
to be impressed by her singing. I also really like the beginning it really hooks
you and then the song kind of changes pace after that. The song keeps you entertained
unlike other old songs this one is fun! I like all of her lyrics they are super
upbeat and honestly sort of funny if you listen very closely.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI chose the same music and personally I don't really like what Ethel's voice adds to the music. The instrumental is great but her voice is too much. I agree, we want to dance on this music! The beginning is very disturbing, we go from the joy to something more calm.
I really like that song but maybe without Ethel's voice...
I also listened to this song this chapter! I also love how upbeat it is. I think it was one of my favorite listens this week. I am glad it was a song we could all enjoy and listen to. I think this song could bring people together so well. I Really love Ethels voice and how loud she can sing too. I wish I could sing that well as well. It would be cool to show that off to my friends. I think that is a really good talent.
ReplyDeleteI didn't listen to this song this chapter but I do know Ethel Merman! Her voice is very unique and in my personal opinion kind of annoying. However I was in choir in highschool and recognize the amount of skill that goes into her singing. She has a very loud voice which can be hard to do right.
